Close your eyes, and imagine for a moment that you’re a female in your twenties who hates fall. The stuff of nightmares, right? For whatever unjust reason, the first crisp days of the season do not instill in me the same excitement for flannel and folk music that they do in almost everyone I know. Quite the contrary: it sends me into what I like to call seasonal depression, and what a less dramatic person would recognize as a general distaste for cold weather.
In the past few years, I’ve tried to embrace the freezing temps (so, you know, anything under 70°) by investing in a good variety of warm sweaters, scarves, and other seasonally appropriate pieces. Nothing will get my perpetually cold feet out of bed like the prospect of an outfit I’m excited to wear. I love these tassel earrings from Sugarfix; they pair perfectly with a turtleneck for an elegant look that isn’t too stuffy. And this wool scarf seconds as a wrap that doesn’t looks like grandma’s, thanks to its chic, dark Aztec print.
